M&E QUANTITY SURVEYORS
M&E QUANTITY SURVEYORS required at all levels by our client to be based in Milton Keynes and London, and to be involved in a variety of private and public sector projects. Applicants will be expected to possess considerable knowledge & skills attained during previous work experience within the building construction and/or civil engineering industry. Duties: Measuring & describing M&E work including the preparation of tender documentation and negotiation with contractors. Preparing and using detailed budgets & cost plans. Preparing & interpreting turnover / cash flow projections & profit / loss forecasts. Undertaking the valuing of variations & potential variations. Preparing interim applications for payment. Preparation & presentation of financial control/WIP documentation. Preparation & agreement of final accounts. Procurement of sub-contractor packages for enquiry to order, then management through to final account agreement. Management & control of major projects within the construction & related industries. Deal with significant contractual issues including extensions of time, loss and expense claims, terms & conditions etc. Attend, hold & chair meetings with clients, subcontractors & internal staff. Person Specification: Recognised Degree in the building construction or civil engineering profession. Chartered Member of the RICS or CIOB, or significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor with excellent knowledge & skills within the building services industry. Able to use a variety of computer software. Excellent written & oral communications skills. Excellent presentation & interpersonal skills. Proven Client Management and Business Development skills. Able to mentor and coach less experienced colleagues. Demonstrate an excellent all round knowledge of the following: Measurement Practice & application. M&E building services installation including BMS & IT Systems. M&E Services Technology; Public Health Technology. Construction Law & Practice. Commercial Management Practices and understanding & applications of Standard Forms of Contracts.
